Carbon Footprint Software II

An earlier post here talked about the carbon footprint software of a company called Planet Metrics. Now, some larger players are getting involved. A recent Business Week article discussed the carbon management software efforts of IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle. A post on CNET’s GreenTech blog and another on the Earth2Tech blog describe how SAP, no stranger to the world of OR, is also taking part. A related post talks about the Planet Metrics software and that of another start-up named Hara.

Maybe we will see a carbon footprint software survey in OR/MS Today before too long. Update: Follow the links in the comments to a pair of year-old reviews, thanks to Richard P.

Update #2: Earth2Tech post about carbon management software firms.
