O.R. Conferences

Sustainability now shows up on the radar for most O.R. conferences. Here are some upcoming ones:

2010 Health and Humanitarian Logistics Conference, Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA, March 4-5, 2010. List of topics includes “long term development and sustainability”.

2010 INFORMS Conference on O.R. Practice, Orlando, Florida, April 18-20, 2010, sustainability is listed as one of several “Focused Tracks on In-Depth Real-World O.R. and Analytics”. Update: Here are a few of the talks (via the ENRE list):
— International Resources Group: Gary Goldstein, Senior Manager, on energy and strategic planning in a carbon-constrained world, the Markal/Times framework.
— US Dept. of Agriculture, Economic Research Services: Neil Conklin, Director, on models for policy design and analysis in agriculture.
— Penn State: Daniel Guide, Associate Professor, Operations & Supply Chain Management, on green supply chain.
— US Environmental Protection Agency – Edelman competitor: reducing security risks in American drinking water systems.

ALIO-INFORMS Joint International Meeting, Buenos Aires, Argentina, June 6-9, 2010. The INFORMS ENRE section will be sponsoring a section.

2010 INFORMS annual meeting, Austin TX, November 7-10, 2010. The conference theme is “Energizing the Future”, with sustainability listed as a “critical” topic. Austin is a great town with a good reputation for sustainability.
