The Institutes page on this blog lists institutes, centers, groups, etc. having something connection to O.R and sustainability. Here are a couple of interesting additions:
The Center for Energy, Environmental, and Economic Systems Analysis (CEEESA)
CEEESA falls under the Decision and Information Sciences Division at Argonne National Laboratory, a U.S. Dept. of Energy lab. One of their major projects is “Wind Power Forecasting and Electricity Markets”. The site describes the group as “multi-disciplinary”, specializing in “the development of innovative methodologies, systems, and analytical tools that can be used for energy, economic, and environmental systems analysis and to facilitate credible decision making”. Simulation, including agent-based models, is one of the techniques they use. Software and publications are available from their site. Note that Argonne is also responsible for the GREET vehicle modeling system (see this post).
Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM)
FEEM is an Italian interdisciplinary research institute “devoted to the study of sustainable development and global governance… FEEM’s mission is to improve through research the quality of decision-making in public and private spheres.” A recent post-doc job posting (pdf) can be found here.
